The date of birth for the Harley Owners Group^® - Huronia Chapter #9102 was the 14th of October, 1990.

The birth of the Chapter took place at a restaurant near the original Harley Davidson^® dealership located on Tiffin Street in the then growing city of Barrie, Ontario.

Proposed names for the chapter where:    

5 Points Barrie Chapter  (Five major roads meet in the centre of the city near the waterfront near City Hall and is presently know as the 5 corners)

• Simcoe Chapter ( Barrie is located in Simcoe County)

• Barrie Chapter

• Bay Area Chapter (Must be because Barrie is on Kempenfelt Bay of Lake Simcoe)

• Georgian Bay Chapter (Due to our geographical location)

• Kempenfelt Chapter (Again with the Bay and the Lake)

Huronia Chapter was decided upon.

The presiding H.O.G.^® official at this inaugural meeting was W.R. "Swill" Hopkins, the Ontario Regional Director at this time.

This meeting was attended by 45 interested parties of which 36 paid in full before the meeting was adjourned.

During this first meeting an executive was duly elected.  A bank account was to be opened.  the mandatory 50/50 draw was conducted and the 1st Official Charity Event was planned, the first toy drive for the Salvation Army Christmas Cheer.
